Shield
The yellow background of the shield indicates the Armor branch of service. The bend represents a military scarfa mark of honorand bears seven fleurs-de-lis to indicate the battle honors awarded the 645th Tank Destroyer Battalion in World War II (predecessor of this organization). Black and golden orange were the colors of the Tank Destroyer units.
Crest
The crest is that of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 245th Tank Battalion on 20 March 1952. It was redesignated for the 245th Armor Regiment on 18 October 1960.
